Ilona Mataradze Lyric Sopran born in Sukhumi, Georgia. She began her music formation at Grechaninov’s Conservatory in Moscow with Mª Tamara Cherkasova, and graduated from it with excellence and received certificate “Specialization in Lyric Singing”. She then continued her studies at the I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory for two years to perfect her vocal technique with the great, world-known singers from Bolshoi Theater in Moscow: Vladislav Piavko (Tenor), husband of the great Soprano Irina Arhipova, and famouse Georgian Tenor Zurab Sotkilava, and then she entered the State University of Pedagogy on faculty “Lyric Singing and Music Formation”. Here she continued her studies with the great Bass-baritone from Bolshoi Theatre, Sergei Kaznacheev, and Lilia Metrevely as coach and graduated from it with excellence in December 2010.

Ilona did numerous Master-Classes and “Stage Interpretation” courses all over the world: in Crimea, Spain, Germany, France and Rumania, she attended master-classes in Crimea with Soprano Nina Kozlova, artist awarded by the Soviet Union and Ukraine, in Moscow she did master-classes with Soprano Marina Golubeva, a follower of Maestro Rebrikov’s school, mainly based on respiratory technique. Besides she did master-classes with Montserrat Caballé in Zaragoza, with Enedina Lloris and Ana Luisa Chova, Rugero Raimondi, Roger Vignoles and Placido Domingo in Valencia.
She graduated from Rossini Academy in Pesaro (Italy) and Placido Domingo Academy in Valencia (Spain).
Ilona was finalist and obtained different awards throughout her career, participating in different international contests.

She was invited soloist in Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca and Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Opera House Tel-Aviv and Haifa Auditorium in Israel, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia and Teatro Principal de Castellon, Teatre de Sabadell and Palau de la Musica in Spain, receiving positive critics from performances and winning a generous recognition from public, singing her principal roles as Mimi from La Bohéme of Puccini, Desdemona from Otello and Gilda from Rigoletto of Verdi, Micaela from Carmen of Bizet, Adina from L´elisir and heroins of Mozart, Massenet, Leoncavallo, Musorgsky and Chaikovsky.
She collaborated with Iavnana Charity Foundation and great Georgian Bass Paata Burchuladze singing in gala concert, held at the Tbilisi Concert Hall in Georgia and Concert for Japan with Mº Omer Wellber in Valencia, as well she supports Association “Casa Grande” in Spain.

Ilona worked with following prestigious Conductors: Alberto Zedda, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, José Miguel Pérez Sierra, Patric Fourniller, Yoel Levi, Jordi Bernácer, Paul Weigold, Omer Meir Wellber, Marco Balderi, Carlos Amat, Andrea Battistoni, Carlo Goldstein, etc.
Ilona also studied International Law, she speaks several European languages. She is Master of Latin Salon Dancing; she composes romances, plays piano and guitar.
